The wildest boats of wealthy businessmen!
In the business world, luxury knows no bounds, and this is particularly reflected in the realm of yachts. These vessels, each more extravagant than the last, showcase the nautical dreams of businessmen.
Jeff Bezos's SuperYacht
Jeff Bezos is a boat enthusiast, and his latest acquisition is by far the most spectacular. His new yacht, the Koru, measures 127 meters long. Its silhouette is highly recognizable with three large sails on the deck towering 70 meters high. It is the second-largest yacht in the world. But beware, one yacht can hide another. Indeed, this boat doesn't operate alone; it is assisted by a second vessel, the Aebona. This support ship helps transport some of the crew members (which total 40!!) as well as equipment. This second boat also has a helipad to accommodate and transport the billionaire's helicopter. The Koru, a boat of extravagance, cost $500 million and requires an additional $20 million per year to operate.
This enormous size doesn't make life easier for its owner, quite the opposite. On November 27, the Koru was unable to enter the Everglades port in Florida, where only vessels under 122 meters are accepted. The yacht had to be parked outside the port next to an oil tanker.
Eric Schmidt's Good Deal
However, the new ship had been sold for 120 million euros. So why such a big price drop? The ship remained stuck in a port in Antigua, an island in the Caribbean, following the start of the conflict in Ukraine. Indeed, its supposed owner Andrey Guryev (through shell companies) is subject to international sanctions. The Antigua government decided to auction off the abandoned boat if no one claimed ownership. Andrey Guryev's daughter came forward to claim her family's rights to the boat, but her father denied owning it, so it was sold to the highest bidder by local authorities.
The 85-meter-long boat is famous for its retractable helipad, indoor infinity pool, spa, and outdoor jacuzzi.
Mark Zuckerberg's Underwater Discovery Yacht
The yacht measures 118 meters long and can accommodate 24 guests with a crew of 48 people. It also has a pool and diving equipment with a hyperbaric chamber. The support ship is used as a landing platform for a helicopter, as well as for storing water toys including a submersible.
Bernard Arnault's Six-Deck Yacht
Numerous sports facilities are also available to the billionaire's guests. There is a six-meter swimming pool with a counter-current system, a dance floor, a gym, and a golf practice area.
The History Supreme of a Secret Businessman
When you search for the "most expensive boat in the world" on Google, you will come across the History Supreme. Indeed, this vessel easily wins the title of the world's most luxurious yacht with a whopping 100,000 kilograms of solid gold and platinum used inside the boat. The extravagance doesn't stop there, as the boat's hull is entirely plated in gold. In the owner's room, a giant aquarium has been crafted with 24-carat gold, and the fireplace is made of meteorite stone. Real Tyrannosaurus bones are used as decorations in the room. Despite the boat's relatively reasonable size of 30 meters long, the lavish material choices drive the ship's price to 3 billion dollars. Owners of such boats typically prefer to remain discreet, and regarding the History Supreme, the boat is rumored to belong to a Malaysian businessman.
