It dates back to the days when boats were "built from the outside in." By this we mean that the profile and exterior were dominant in design.
Nowadays, beauty is often abandoned in favor of the desired volume below deck.
Lady Holland also carries the prestigious Feadship brand. It was built at the renowned Van Lent shipyard in De Kaag.
In recent years it has sailed in Italy, after careful maintenance at a Frisian shipyard, and can be visited there.
In addition to being an avid sailor, its owner is a lover of pre-war cars and greatly appreciates the "patina". Patina means that antiquity and originality are the embellishment with respect to the same thing in "like new" conditions. Get ready for a very original ship, inside and out.
Regular maintenance has been carried out. In 2008, bridges were renovated in the Netherlands. Painting work must be carried out completely. The interior needs a new upholstery. The stretch and openwork ceilings, entirely original, were replaced some time ago. No doubt there is still a lot of work to be done. To give you a better idea, a recent appraisal is available on request.
Lady Holland is beautiful in her originality but not for everyone, fortunately.
