By the mid-1970s, motorsailers had a fair amount of popularity. Among these, the Lady Laura should be noted. Built by the Classis shipyard in Goro (Ravenna), this boat, in spite of the cumbersome topside, good displacement and some solutions (the wheeled rudder, fixed to starboard of the deckhouse), boasts first-rate construction and a good hull. The Lady Laura has a central cockpit, wide walkways and a rather square deckhouse, but it is in the interiors that it has its strong point: tall, welcoming, bright and with numerous compartments. The aft cabin is large, the kitchen is worthy of a studio apartment. Excellent sailing performance, especially upwind and with strong winds when the hull gives good satisfaction.
