Haliotis is a MOODY 376 that we know well, as we sold it to its current owner in 2013. The boat has been well looked after and is in the same condition as when it was purchased in 2013… with a few more miles on the log book (46676 miles). The transmission has undergone a complete refit (reverse gear, propeller shaft, shaft seal) and the hull was fully air blasted and treated with epoxy in 2021.

Owner speaks : We purchased the Moody 376 in 2013. It had belonged to an English couple, who had owned it since new, and was based in Foleux, on the River Vilaine. It was subsequently based in La Trinité-sur-Mer, our home port, and maintained by Ouest Marine Moteurs and Technic Ouest Yachting.
We have greatly appreciated its qualities over the years: seaworthiness, good sailing performance, manoeuvrability and safety within the central cockpit. We go on a three-week family cruise every year, mainly from Brest to La Rochelle. It also offers plenty of living space and comfort, both whilst cruising and in port, providing us with a ‘weekend retreat’ for winter weekends in La Trinité.
I must admit that I wasn’t initially very keen on the furling mainsail, but I’ve completely changed my mind: all manoeuvres are handled from the cockpit, with hoisting, lowering or reducing the sail area carried out single-handedly and with great ease. Furthermore, it performs well under engine power: a speed of 4–5 knots with the engine at its cruising speed of 1,500 rpm. In short, a wealth of wonderful memories with our two boys and, often, their friends. Memories of lovely stopovers at La Chambre aux Glénan, the long beach at Houat, Groix, the anchorages at Belle-Île, the Bois de la Chaise at Noirmoutier… Memories of lovely sailing trips, sometimes accompanied by dolphins, the magic of night-time voyages… Today, there’s a change of plan : our childrens can no longer spend three weeks on board, so we will carry on sailing as a pair on a smaller boat. The Moody has some wonderful sailing adventures ahead to share!
