Owner speaks : As a former offshore sailor, I was familiar with the Cicale 16's seaworthiness (some famous sailors have owned one, including Patrick Elies and Christophe Auguin, amongst others). That was the main reason I was drawn to it, and once I'd tried it out, I was completely won over. When sailing: it's so easy and straightforward to handle that it's ideal for sailing with a very small crew or with the family; it has a well-sheltered and reassuring cockpit, a battened mainsail, a non-overlapping genoa, a self-tacking staysail, all manoeuvres controlled from the cockpit console, and above all, all the long and laborious manoeuvres - such as releasing the reefing lines and furling the headsails - are handled by the electric winch on the console, allowing these tasks to be carried out safely and with minimal effort. Ballast tanks limit heel to 15°, and the famous cutter rig, combined with the ballast, allows for a daily range of 240 nm without straining the boat. The aft deck allows you to bring a dolphinfish or tuna on board in complete safety. At anchor: the cockpit, sheltered by the mooring awning, and the ventilation provided by a front opening in the sprayhood offer real comfort. The large outdoor table is perfect for family lunches on the aft deck - a MAGICAL spot: spacious, with the water just 10 cm away, and complete with a swim ladder ... even the little ones feel safe there.
The galley offers a spacious work area.
The boat offers a high degree of self-sufficiency: a generous diesel capacity (average consumption of around 4 litres per hour), the watermaker and the ability to generate its own electricity provide excellent freedom on long-distance cruises.
