Owner speaks : I bought this DUFOUR 500 Grand Large in the Mediterranean at the end of 2024, when I retired, through the company Antipode. My plan was to set off with friends for six months or more, heading down to the warm seas of the Caribbean, or perhaps even further… So two transatlantic crossings were on the agenda. We sailed the boat back up to Brittany, and I took care to prepare and fit it out over the course of a year to ensure we could set sail in complete safety. This Dufour 500 GL was well suited to my plans, it is a fast, stable, reassuring and very seaworthy boat. We encountered some fairly strong winds at times, but we never felt in danger. The transatlantic crossings were completed at a good average speed. It is also very pleasant to live on, comfortable, well-equipped, very light and airy inside, spacious and full of storage space. When moored, with its electric fender, outdoor grill and external fridge, we had a great time with friends and family.
I have really loved this boat, I am selling it with a touch of sadness, but it no longer suits my new sailing plans, which will involve more coastal cruising along our shores.
