1/ The Streets Of Monaco - $1100M (Project)
The Streets of Monaco is a 155-meter superyacht concept designed by Yacht Island Design and BMT Nigel Gee, recreating a section of the Principality of Monaco. This luxury yacht, estimated to cost over $1 billion to build, stands out with its miniature replicas of famous Monaco landmarks such as the Monte Carlo Casino, Hotel de Paris, and the Formula 1 race track transformed into a karting circuit. It also features pools, tennis courts, a cinema, casinos, and numerous leisure and wellness facilities including spas, jacuzzis, and underwater bars.
The yacht can accommodate 16 guests in luxurious suites, with a crew of 70 ensuring impeccable service. The interior design includes a spectacular atrium connecting different levels of the ship, along with private suites featuring balconies, bathrooms, and reception rooms. Outdoor amenities include cascades, helipads, and water sports facilities.
Although the Streets of Monaco is still in the concept stage, it represents a bold and innovative vision of what a luxury yacht could be, offering a unique experience of a "floating city" on the seas.
2/ Eclipse - $700M
The yacht Eclipse, owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, is a masterpiece of nautical engineering built by Blohm + Voss and launched in 2010. At 162.5 meters in length, it was the world's largest private yacht until the arrival of Azzam in 2013. The interior and exterior design was overseen by Terence Disdale, renowned for his elegant and sophisticated creations.
Eclipse can accommodate up to 36 guests in 18 luxurious cabins, with a crew of 70 members spread across 35 cabins. Onboard facilities include two helipads, a 16-meter swimming pool that can be converted into a dance floor, multiple jacuzzis, a private cinema for the crew, a beach club, and a private submarine capable of diving up to 50 meters deep. The yacht is also equipped with a missile defense system and a paparazzi detection system using lasers to disrupt digital cameras.
Eclipse features state-of-the-art stabilizers to minimize roll and improve comfort both underway and at anchor. The materials used onboard are of exceptional quality, including precious woods and soft metallic fabrics to create an Art Deco ambiance. The yacht is often seen in St. Barth for New Year celebrations.
In terms of performance, Eclipse can reach a maximum speed of 25 knots powered by MTU engines, with a cruising speed of 22 knots. Its construction cost was approximately $500 to $700 million, and annual operating costs are estimated at $60 million.
3/ Azzam - $600M
L'Azzam is a 180-meter superyacht built by the German shipyard Lürssen and launched in 2013. Known as the world's longest private yacht, it was commissioned by the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, former President of the United Arab Emirates, and is currently owned by his successor, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Azzam was designed by Nauta Yachts for the exterior and Christophe Leoni for the interior, with a strong focus on security and performance, including an armored master suite and a missile defense system.
The yacht can accommodate 36 guests and 80 crew members, spread across luxurious cabins and lavish communal spaces. Onboard amenities include a 29-meter-long main salon without pillars, pools, jacuzzis, a spa, a gym, and a beauty salon. Azzam is also equipped with a mini-submarine, an indoor golf area, and a large swim platform at the rear.
Designed to navigate at high speeds even in shallow waters, Azzam can reach a maximum speed of 32 knots thanks to its diesel engines and gas turbines producing a total of 47,000 horsepower. The construction cost of this luxury yacht is estimated at $600 million, with annual operating costs ranging between $50 and $75 million.
4/ Topaz - $527M
The Topaz, renamed A+ in 2019, is a 147.25-meter superyacht built by Lürssen in Germany and launched in 2012. Owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family, this luxury yacht is one of the largest in the world, with an estimated value of around $527 million and annual operating costs of $45 million.
The exterior design of the Topaz was created by Tim Heywood, while the interior was designed by Terence Disdale. The yacht spans eight decks, featuring luxurious amenities such as two helipads, a swimming pool, two jacuzzis, a cinema, a conference room, and a fully equipped gym. The interior decoration adopts an informal "beach house" style with sophisticated and modern influences.
Topaz can accommodate up to 62 guests in 26 sumptuous cabins and has a crew capacity of 79 members, ensuring top-notch service for all passengers. The yacht is powered by Pielstick diesel engines, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 25.5 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots. Zero-speed stabilizers ensure a comfortable experience even in rough waters.
Topaz is not available for charter and is not currently for sale, reflecting the private and exclusive nature of this exceptional vessel.
5/ Motor Yacht A- $300M
The Motor Yacht A, designed by Philippe Starck and built by Blohm + Voss, was launched in 2008 at an estimated cost of $300 million. This 119-meter yacht stands out for its unique design and impressive technical features.
The yacht is powered by two MAN RK280 diesel engines, delivering a total power of 12,000 horsepower, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 23 knots. At a cruising speed of 19 knots, it can travel up to 6,500 nautical miles without refueling.
Inside, the Motor Yacht A features sumptuous accommodations with nearly 2,200 square meters of interior space, including a 230-square-meter master suite. Mirrored surfaces and Baccarat crystal are extensively used in the decoration, and removable walls can transform the 7 guest cabins into 4 larger suites. Outside, the yacht boasts three pools, including one with a glass bottom visible from the disco below, as well as an helipad.
In terms of security, the yacht is equipped with 44 mm thick bulletproof glass, over 40 surveillance cameras, motion sensors, and biometric access to restricted areas. It also includes three Starck-designed tenders, each measuring between 10 and 11 meters.
The Motor Yacht A has sparked varied opinions due to its avant-garde design, often likened to a nuclear submarine. However, it is also recognized for its innovation and boldness in the realm of luxury yacht design.
