Construction and materials
Built using high-end vacuum infusion with a balsa/E-glass/carbon sandwich, the hull and deck combine strength and lightness. All exterior surfaces are triple-layer lacquered with a mirror finish and double-coated with protective varnish. The deck is fully laid with 8 mm thick exotic wood (teak), providing both classic elegance and non-slip comfort. Stainless steel safety rails and self-draining cockpit lockers show a great attention to safety and practicality.
 
Rigging and deck equipment
The Alphena One is built for performance while remaining easy to handle. Its black-lacquered aluminium mast and boom (carbon optional) support an efficient sail plan. The foresail is on a Facnor furler and a self-tacking jib with symmetrical sheets makes maneuvers smooth. A retractable carbon bowsprit allows for quick gennaker deployment. The rig includes an integrated mainsail outhaul system within the boom and automatic reefing for adapting to changing wind conditions.
 
The deck hardware is all premium quality. The boat is fitted with top-tier Harken systems for smooth and precise sail handling: two self-tailing winches and a double mainsheet system on a central turret. Retractable stainless steel mooring cleats maintain the deck’s clean and refined aesthetic.
 
Electric propulsion
Powered by a Krautler 48V electric motor (3.5 kW), the Alphena One glides silently in and out of harbours. The propulsion system is supported by four 12V gel batteries (main battery replaced in 2024), managed by a charger and charge controller. A joystick allows precise maneuvering, while the retractable bronze two-blade propeller minimizes drag under sail.
 
Interior comfort
Though performance-oriented, this yacht offers a comfortable and clean interior layout. Two lateral bench seats can be converted into additional berths, with integrated storage below. Upholstery and linings are anti-stain and Öko-Tex certified, ensuring a healthy and low-maintenance environment. The minimalist layout is functional under sail and relaxing at anchor.
