J Boats J92 from 1998, a well known performance cruiser-racer appreciated for its speed, reliability and sailing pleasure. This iconic model from J Boats offers an excellent balance between performance, ease of handling and versatility.
The boat is in good overall condition with regular and careful maintenance. It is ready for coastal racing and immediate sailing.
The Yanmar 1GM10 10 HP engine was replaced in 2023 with a fully refurbished unit. The gearbox control was replaced in 2019 and the engine was serviced in 2025. Maintenance invoices are available, ensuring proper follow-up.
Deck equipment is complete and performance oriented, including a retractable carbon bowsprit, aluminium spinnaker pole, four Harken self-tailing winches, Spinlock tiller extension and Spinlock clutches. The anchoring system includes a 10 kg Britany anchor with chain and rode.
The running rigging was fully upgraded to Dyneema between 2018 and 2019 and has been regularly maintained with additional upgrades in 2024 and 2025 including backstay system, vang and clutches. The standing rigging has been partially renewed with a forestay replaced in 2016.
The sail inventory is extensive and suitable for both racing and cruising. The boat is equipped with a Dacron mainsail currently rigged in its lazy bag, ideal for cruising and deliveries. It also includes a 2018 Intervoiles racing genoa in very good condition, two overlapping carbon and DCX genoas, a kevlar solent, a symmetric spinnaker and an asymmetric A3 spinnaker. The lazy bag and lazy jack were installed in 2016 with lines renewed in 2024. Headsails are mounted on hanks with the possibility to reinstall a furling system.
The hull is meticulously maintained with annual sanding and application of racing antifouling Speedy Carbonium. The last treatment was carried out in August 2024 and the hull is regularly cleaned by diving.
Navigation electronics include a Raymarine EV-100 autopilot with remote control, Tacktick instruments with log and depth, three displays, SeaTalk NG network and active GPS antenna. A fixed VHF is also installed on board.
The electrical system has been upgraded with a recent electrical panel, shore power charger, alternator charge distributor, a 2023 engine battery and a 2021 service battery. Interior and navigation lights have been converted to LED.
The interior is simple and functional with a 70-liter water system refitted in 2024, aft berths under the cockpit, removable saloon table and marine toilet.
Safety equipment includes a Plastimo 4-person life raft and standard coastal safety equipment.
