It was founded in Texas in 1956 and purchased by Genmar Holdings in the 1990s, with production moved to Minnesota. The motorboats produced by Glastron were used for some scenes of the films Agent 007 - Live and Let Die and Moonraker - Space Operation. The speedboat used in the Batman television series of the sixties was built by Glastron.
