Founded in 1863, Burger Boat is one of the most renowned yacht builders in the United States. The shipyard is known for its craftsmanship, use of high-quality materials, and attention to detail. Burger Boat has built a wide variety of vessels, including luxury yachts and sailboats. Among Burger Boat's most iconic models are "Tamerlane": launched in 1931, it was at the time the largest private yacht in the world, "Elco PT-109": used by Lieutenant John F. Kennedy during World War II and "Sea Cloud": a magnificent five-masted sailing ship, launched in 1931 and still sailing today. Hull number 078B built in 1959 was the Sally.
Imported directly from the USA and thanks to a masterful refit, Sally is reborn as a jewel of the sea with a technological heart of the future
Sally's story is enriched with a new chapter, a total refit that has transformed this vintage boat into a masterpiece of conservative restoration combined with cutting-edge technology.
From the bare hull to the rebirth: The refit involved every single element, starting from the bare hull, restored to its original condition with the direct support of the parent company. Every detail has been restored with obsessive care, to keep Sally's vintage charm intact.
Invisible technology at the service of vintage charm: The technical part has been completely renewed with the latest generation components: motors, generator, watermaker, pumps, compressors, Seakeper 9 gyroscopic stabilizer, electrical and hydraulic systems, instrumentation. The result is a perfect combination of classic aesthetics and modern functionality. The technology integrates discreetly, without altering Sally's vintage soul, but offering comfort, safety and top performance.
A refit that looks to the future: The work done has given Sally a second life, guaranteeing its longevity and value over time. The boat is now ready to take on new challenges and give its owners unforgettable sailing experiences.
An example of excellence: Sally's refit is an example of excellence in the field of conservative restoration and technological innovation. An ambitious project that has been able to give new life to a jewel of the sea, preserving its timeless charm and giving it an avant-garde beating heart.
In conclusion, Sally's refit is a work of art that celebrates the perfect marriage of tradition and innovation. An example of how passion and expertise can give new life to a piece of history, transforming it into a jewel of the sea ready to ply the waves for many generations to come.
The interiors are breathtaking, the contrast between the white blockboard with edges and door frames in lacquered mahogany create an elegant and refined effect. The faithful reconstruction of the layout and furniture gives an idea of how far ahead this construction site was in 1959 and at the same time how well it was rebuilt. A work of art.
The living room, surrounded by an L-shaped sofa, houses a table that is already a work of art on its own. Thanks to the windows and the brightness and the view of the sea are not lacking. Towards the bow you go down into the L-shaped galley equipped with the latest generation appliances for food preparation. From the kitchen there is access to the guest cabin with bunk beds with private bathroom. Towards the stern, descending a comfortable staircase, you enter the sleeping area where there is the VIP cabin with French double bed and private bathroom with shower and then to the large master cabin which is full beam and houses a king-size bed, a console with seat and a large bathroom with shower.
