Owner speaks : I am the second owner of L'ELAN BLEU. My very careful predecessor bought her when he retired and put her up for sale in 2014, so I'm following the same path. I bought this Elan 31 because she was in perfect condition and had a very good reputation. I was looking for a reliable boat that would be easy to handle, knowing that I would often be sailing alone. My 10 years with her validated my choice. I've worked hard to maintain her well and improve her equipment to make my solo trips from Penmach to La Rochelle easier and safer. The tiller and sail drive make her very easy to handle in harbour. At sea with little wind, she's starting to express herself, and in force 4-5 she's perfect. Her design and draught of 1.85 m, with plenty of ballast, make her a stiff sailboat, and in strong conditions, the fast automatic reefing of 1 or 2 reefs and the vortex genoa on the roller furler ensure her safety. I'll always remember the great times I've had with L'ELAN BLEU and wish similar moments for my successors.
