All the old antifouling was removed in 2022, and then three coats of Seajet Taisho were applied in July 2023.
The lead ballast was sandblasted in 2022.
The rudder is mounted on a full skeg and is wheel-controlled. A complete spare parts kit is available on board (steering cables and chain replaced in March 2024).
Regarding the collision bulkheads, the chain locker bulkhead was transformed into a collision bulkhead by doubling the existing wall to create a fully watertight separation.
White Shadow is now for sale after successfully completing the Ocean Globe Race 2023, ranking third in the Sayula Class (55 to 65 feet). Completed in Rome in 2021, she underwent a major refit to be adapted for a safe round-the-world race: new standing rigging in cable, new brass through-hulls, rudder, inspected keel, double watermaker, new running rigging in Dyneema, electrical revision, engine refit (Perkins), etc. She can accommodate up to 12 people for sleeping. White Shadow is a sloop with a fully battened mainsail and is sold with a full set of 11 sails, 6 of which are from 2023.
White Shadow is one of the few Swans to have sailed around the world, covering 35,000 nautical miles, passing the three great capes. She has a fantastic history and is ready to set sail wherever you wish to take her.
She is currently visible in Barcelona and is in immediate sailing condition, with a solid reputation for reliability and robustness as a Swan 57. To bring her back to optimal condition, she requires some minor cosmetic work (varnish, curtains, etc.). An insurance report from 2023 and invoices are available.

Diesel Perkins 4.236, 93 HP (1978). Estimated hours 7,700. The engine underwent a major refit in May 2023: Hoses and sleeves of the freshwater and saltwater systems were replaced. The oil cooler was cleaned by ultrasonic and the gaskets were replaced. The freshwater cooler was cleaned by ultrasonic and the gaskets were replaced. The seawater pump impeller was replaced. The mixer elbow was disassembled for cleaning and condition assessment. The section of the elbow hose exhaust to the silencer was replaced. The cylinder valves were adjusted. The rocker cover gasket was replaced. The service and engine alternators were overhauled. The starter motor was replaced. The 4 engine mounts (idler pulleys) were replaced. The control lever on the steering was replaced. The gear bearings were replaced. The corrosion hole in the shaft pipe was repaired with cold cement.
